A lockdown at New London High School in New London, Connecticut, on Friday, May 22, 2026, prompted a swift and coordinated emergency response after reports of a potential bomb threat on campus. The incident briefly disrupted school activities and raised concern among students, parents, and members of the surrounding community.

According to the New London Police Department, officers were dispatched to the school located at 20 Chester Street at approximately 1:39 p.m. following reports of a possible threat. School officials immediately initiated lockdown procedures as a precautionary measure, ensuring that students and staff remained secured inside classrooms while law enforcement conducted an on-site investigation.

Emergency personnel, including police units and school district safety officials, worked together to assess the situation. Authorities carried out a thorough sweep of the premises to determine whether any hazardous materials or devices were present. After a comprehensive search, officials confirmed that no explosive devices were found and no injuries were reported.

Following the investigation, law enforcement determined that the threat was non-credible. The lockdown was subsequently lifted, and the school was declared safe for normal operations.
